The goal is to promote management practices that enhance customer satisfaction as well as the satisfaction of other stakeholder categories.

To achieve this goal, the quality management system model has been made more flexible, allowing for easy integration with other management models and methodologies used by organizations. Since all management systems, while having specific applications, share the aim of reducing or eliminating risks related to variability and the complexity of the context, the new edition of ISO 9001:2015 includes elements focused on risk management.
